Guangxi ZHAI

Dr. Guangxi Zhai, male, is a Professor of Pharmaceutics at Shandong University, PhD supervisor, and a member of the Department of Pharmaceutics at Shandong University. He holds a Bachelor’s degree from Shandong Medical University (1990), a Master’s degree in Biochemical and Microbial Drugs from Shandong Medical University (1996), and a PhD in Pharmaceutics from Shenyang Pharmaceutical University (2003). He completed postdoctoral research in Pharmacy at Shandong University (2007) and was a visiting scholar at The Ohio State University in the United States (2007–2008).

Dr. Zhai is recognized as a Taishan Industry Leading Talent, a Highly Cited Chinese Researcher, and ranks in the global Top 2% of scientists. His research focuses on controlled and sustained drug release, nano-targeted drug delivery systems, transdermal and nasal mucosal drug delivery, biomedical nanomaterials, and advanced pharmaceutical preparations and their industrialization.

Dr. Zhai has been involved in numerous consulting projects for organizations such as the National Health Commission, the World Health Organization, and the UK Department for International Development. He has published over 70 papers in SCI/SSCI-indexed journals, with more than 30 as first or corresponding author, and has authored commentary articles in The Lancet and The Lancet Global Health. His decision-making reports have been recognized by senior leaders in policy circles. Dr. Zhai is an expert reviewer for several national research foundations and serves on the editorial boards of international journals such as Asian Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences and Drug Discoveries & Therapeutics. He has also reviewed for numerous pharmaceutical journals.
